Olena Kolotova

Painter & Art Educator

Artist Statement
"I find meaning in transforming the beauty around me into impressions on canvas — the light through petals, a landscape at dusk, the character in a face."

Olena works predominantly with oil paints and traditional brushwork, painting en plein air as well as in the studio. Her subjects — flowers, landscapes, and portraits — emerge intuitively rather than from a fixed plan, allowing each work to carry its own unexpected life.

Born in Horyshni Plavni, Ukraine, on the banks of the Dnipro River, Olena grew up surrounded by music and the rhythms of village life. A winter journey to the Carpathians at fifteen ignited a lifelong desire to capture impressions through painting.
